An intragastric balloon is a soft silicone balloon that is inserted into your stomach through your mouth. The balloon partially fills the stomach which leads to a feeling of fullness and is left inside for six months. The procedure is endoscopic and non-surgical and it only takes about 20 – 25 minutes. A mild sedative or a light anaesthetic will be given for this procedure.
